Australia Day Celebrations

Australia Day

The Ulladulla Milton Lions Club run the Australia Day celebrations at the Mollymook Beach Reserve on the 26th of January each year. The day is made up of a youth music spectacular and coincides with our regular Mollymook Markets with more than 120 market stalls.

We start the day with a Welcome to Country provided by one of the local elders followed by the flag raising carried out by the 1st Burrill Sea Scouts. The day is designed around being a family day where families can come along for the day and enjoy the markets as well as watching some of our very talented youth up on stage competing for prize money. The first prize in the Youth Music Spectacular is $2,000 with second prize being $1,000 and third receiving $500. We also give out two encouragement awards of $150 each. We have a prominent Australian attending on the day as our Australia Day Ambassador, supplied by the Australia Day Council as well as local dignitaries such as the Shoalhaven City Mayor, our State Member of Parliament and our Federal Member of Parliament.

There are activities for the children provided on the day such as face painting, jumping castle, merry-go-round, the RFS truck to sit in and the SES boat.

The Lions have their now famous Donuts on sale on the day as well as Bacon and Egg Rolls, and Sausage Sandwiches, all at very reasonable prices.
